Daniel Brown's
history and
information
regarding
his
results-oriented
approach to
defending a
criminal charge.
I earned my Bachelor
of Arts degree in
Political Science
from York University
in Toronto and
graduated law school
at Queen’s
University in
Kingston, Ontario. I
am currently
completing my Master
of Laws degree at Osgoode Hall Law
School specializing
in Criminal Law and
Procedure.
Following my call to
the bar in Ontario,
I began practicing
at Canada’s largest
criminal defence
firm,
Pinkofskys Criminal
Trial and Appeal
Lawyers. I am
now a partner at
Pinkofskys where I
continue to practice
exclusively in the
area of criminal
defence law.
My work has included
representing clients
at bail hearings and
bail reviews, "judge
alone" trials, jury
trials and appeals.
The range of
criminal charges I
defend include, but
are not limited to, domestic assault,
sexual assault,
robbery, drug
offences, weapons
offences, firearms
offences, arson,
theft / shoplifting,
fraud, break &
enter, impaired
driving, attempted
murder, murder,
securities offences,
tax evasion,
regulatory offences,
computer crimes,
offences under the
Environmental
Protection Act
or
Occupational
Health and Safety
Act,
professional
disciplinary
offences,
embezzlement,
corporate crimes,
and conspiracy
offences.
I have appeared as
counsel on hundreds
of trials ranging
from large-scale
frauds and drug
trafficking to
murder and almost
every charge in
between. I
have defended
alleged gang members charged in
Project
Pathfinder,
Project Flicker,
Project XXX and
Project Kryptic,
four of Canada's
largest Criminal
Organization
prosecutions and in
2004, I made
national headlines
with my advocacy in
the
French
Left-hand Turn
Case.
Although most of my
clients are in the
greater Toronto and
outlying areas, I
have made trial
appearances in all
corners of Ontario
including York
Region, Durham
Region, Peel Region,
Halton Region, Barrie, Orillia,
Hamilton, Guelph,
Kitchener, Waterloo,
Kingston and
Orangeville among
others.
In addition to
defending persons
charged with
criminal and other
offences, I provide
advice to victims,
witnesses, sureties,
persons under
investigation,
persons wanting
seized property
returned, and others
in a variety of
unfortunate
situations.
